| Faerybabyy is one of my favorite artists,
and has been for a few years now. I discovered her randomly on
YouTube one night and instantly fell in love with her music and her
style, both of which are so cool. Her videos are very creative and cute. They're mostly made by Frances Iridian, who is equally as cool. I love the stuff referenced in her videos, many are things that I've loved since I was a kid. They're so well made, I love all of them. Also, in the music video for "brand new dude", there's an 88x31 Neocities button. I freaked when I saw that. Back in 2024, I got the chance to see her live. I remember being at a bar in Durango, CO with my mom and stepdad when I saw on Instagram that she was opening for someone in ABQ. The tickets were very affordable so I immediately bought them without hesitation. I got one for my friend, Sam, since I was too nervous to go by myself. It ended up being an amazing time. Sam and I got a hotel room in the area and got a ride to the venue. We smoked and did a bunch of apple flavored vodka shots prior to going, so we were feeling pretty good when we got there. We found a place to stand and listened to the music playing while we waited for her to come on stage. I remember hearing "An Honest Mistake" by The Bravery, which is a song I love. The show was really good, you can watch a recording of it here. I got to hear songs that weren't released yet, which have become some of my favorites. After she performed, she came offstage and as she walked past I blurted out "YOU DID SO FUCKING GOOD!". She asked Sam and I to wait by the merch table while she stepped away for a sec, so we did. We ended up talking for a little while, mainly about her music. I bought her cassette tape, which currently sits unwrapped on a table surrounded by ceramic fairies. Actually, when I went to buy it, I was going to Cashapp her for it. I think it was $20? But in front of both of our eyes, MY CARD DECLINED LMFAO. I was like "Oh shit.. one sec" and just borrowed the money from Cashapp. I was NOT leaving without that cassette. Which reminds me.. I need to buy the shirts that are on her merch site.. Sam took a couple pictures of us (where I look a MESS) before we left. I'm sure the guy she was opening for was great, but, I only came to see her. Sam and I ended up wandering around ABQ, drinking and exploring before getting a ride back to our hotel. It was a good time. Here's some pictures from that night: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've interacted with her a few times since seeing her perform. I don't want to get parasocial, so I don't go out of my way to interact too much. But we briefly talked when I made The Sims 2 music video. And then when I was drunk at the lake with Sam one day, I DMed her because she had just released a song that I couldn't stop listening to. I sent a video of Sam and I listening to her by the lake. It was either "knuckle head" or "call my ex".. around that time. Anyways, If you haven't listened to her, you really should. Her music will forever hold a special place in my heart. |
