Grand Theft Auto: III
The game that changed the series.

Grand Theft Auto 3 is my 2nd favorite game in the series, behind IV. I love
that it takes place in New York in 2001. I love that the textures, the music,
every asset for the game was created in an era that I romanticize and wish I
could've experienced.
I love listening to the ambient city track that plays in the background while
you roam the city. So much so that it plays on my home page on this website!
It's really comforting. I first played GTA 3 all the way back in 2011
or 2012 when I got it on my Playstation 3. I didn't spend too much time playing
it then since IV was the newest GTA and I loved playing multiplayer. I got
back into playing in high school. I would get really stoned late at night and
play for hours because it was entertaining for my high ass. I loved pretending like
I was in NY in the early 2000's.
Sometime after high school, I revived my old Playstation 2 and started buying
games like crazy. GTA: III was one of the first games I bought. Playing on the
PS2 with an old TV is my favorite way to play it, it helps fully immerse me in
the experience. I still play from time to time, just when I'm stoned because
driving around the map while listening to the radio stations puts me in a
